Rather than resisting the climate, the design engages with it thoughtfully. The west façade is treated as a critical design surface—one that requires both protection and expression.
To address thermal impact, a system of architectural screens, punctures, and shading elements was introduced. These devices filter the summer sun, reduce heat penetration, and create dynamic shadows that animate the façade throughout the day. They serve a dual purpose: functional environmental control and a defining aesthetic character.

PROGRAM & LAYOUT

Despite the compact footprint, the home accommodates an extensive residential program with spatial efficiency and clarity. The built area, approximately 6,500 square feet, is organized across multiple levels:

• 1 + 4 bedroom arrangement (one bedroom on the ground floor and four on the upper levels)
• Two living rooms, each providing distinct social atmospheres for informal and formal gatherings
• A basement theater/game room, designed as an immersive recreational zone insulated from exterior noise and light
• The planning ensures privacy, circulation ease, and a natural flow between public and private zones.

ARCHITECTURAL CHARACTER

The design balances density with openness. Strategic voids, terraces, and screened surfaces help break down the massing and allow natural light to permeate deeper into the structure. The combination of rigid geometric form and climatic devices results in a home that feels robust yet responsive to its context.
